2022 Weekly Themes:

  1. June 6-10: Nature Week: Engage in learning more about wetlands, local wildlife, and plants during the weekly themed field trip on Wednesday, then, get crafty around butterflies, bugs, and worms.
  2. June 13-17: Native American: Join us on our field trip to Maquoketa Caves with Wapsi River Environmental Educational Center Naturalists.  Learn about Native American history through games and crafts.
  3. June 20-24:  Cabin Life: Play Pioneer games and explore the world of early pioneer children’s daily activities such as making butter, candle dipping, and more!
  4. June 27-July 1: Wilderness Survival: Field trip to Wapsi River Environmental Educational Center. Campers will get hands-on experience practicing outdoors skills such as navigation, shelter building, and knot tying.
  5. July 11-15: Rivers, Lakes & Streams: Visit the Mississippi River Eco Tourism Center and ride a 25 person pontoon in the Mississippi River back waters, pond study, & Eco Center.  Go fishing & canoeing at Pride Lake with Naturalists from the Wapsi Center.
  6. July 18-22: Animal Planet: Learn about the animal world.  How species are related, evolve and what their future looks to be.  Field trip to Camp Abe Lincoln.  Lots of animal related games and crafts!
  7. July 25-29: Weird Science: Launch out of this world during a visit to The Putnam Museum’s Science Center.  Build your own solar oven to make a S’more!
  8. August 1-5: Dive in!: Enjoy a week filled with water games and contests and all things under the sea.  Themed field trip on Wednesday!
