On January 1st, 2024, MEDIC EMS made the transition to a department of Scott County. Now known as MEDIC EMS of Scott County, this change allows us to continue to serve our community, with the added financial stability to ensure that we will remain ready to respond for years to come.
MEDIC crew saves a patient in cardiac arrest
On August 4th, 2024, Mark was having a medical emergency and called 911 in his home.
The Bettendorf Fire Department and MEDIC EMS of Scott County arrived just in time. Mark’s heart stopped beating in front of the providers. MEDIC and BFRD successfully resuscitated Mark and were able to start his heart back up, but he was still in critical condition.
MEDIC transported Mark to a local hospital, where doctors and nurses were able to place a defibrillator and a pacemaker. Mark was discharged from the hospital a few weeks later.
