Scott County Auditor Kerri Tompkins wants voters to know a statewide mailing will be released this week to keep the voter registration list updated. If you did not vote in the last general election, and have not reported a change of address, name or party affiliation, state law requires this notice be sent and for your voter registration be made “inactive.” To stay active, simply return the notice (follow the directions) with paid postage and you will be made “active.” If you get a card at your address, but it is not you, simply disregard the mailing. “No Activity Notice postcards are a great tool to assist us in maintaining our voter registration list and is required by Iowa Code 48A.28,” she said.

Assessed values for most county properties saw very hefty increases for 2023 assessments. This same real estate trend has occurred locally, throughout the entire State of Iowa, and nationally. This year in Scott County, there have been significant increases in property assessed values. There are multiple reasons for this, but the main reason is due to the local real estate market, which has rapidly increased since just 2 years ago.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic interrupting the implementation of the 2019 CHIP, community partners decided to transition several strategies and activities to this CHIP for all priority areas: mental health, nutrition, physical activity, and weight, and access to healthcare. This plan will help guide the collaborative efforts taking place over the next three years to improve the health of our community. Scott County Auditor Kerri Tompkins wants voters in local school districts to be aware of Special Elections on March 7th. “Voters in Davenport, Bettendorf, Durant and Calamus-Wheatland School Districts have public measures on the ballot,” said Tompkins.
