Mandatory Violence in the Workplace Training - S.A.V.E Yourself

The second component of our biennial mandatory training is our Violence in the Workplace training. Chad Sheehan, Sheehan Strategic Solutions, presents to us the S.A.V.E (Survive a Violent Encounter) Yourself program. This session focuses on training us in the area of surviving violence or the threat of violence posed by a workplace active threat and empowering us to survive. S.A.V.E Yourself incorporates the most current training philosophies and best practices shared by organizations including; Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice and the Department of Education amongst other entities. This training will not only be relevant in the workplace, it will also serve us well as we go about our daily lives as the lessons of preparation and awareness he shares are universal.

Mr. Sheehan is a 23 year veteran of law enforcement and previously was with the Sioux City Police Department and is now the Woodbury County Sheriff. During his tenure with SCPD, he provided training in crime prevention topics to businesses and schools as well as serving as the school resource officer for a Sioux City high school.
