Purchasing

Scott County uses a blend of centralized and departmental purchasing depending on the products / services needed. This program is a function of the Purchasing Division of the Administration Department.

In keeping with the county’s Purchasing Policy "to provide increased economy in County purchasing activities and to maximize, to the fullest practical extent, the purchasing value of public funds," the purchasing division researches price comparisons for products and services when departments seek to purchase. Scott County uses Public Purchase, an e-procurement platform, to post requisitions and receive proposals and quotes. The basic subscription is free to vendors. Vendors may choose a plan that requires a subscription cost, but any cost that a vendor incurs for registration will be at their sole discretion and responsibility.

Scott County Request for Bids:

  • Public Purchase (For Vendors)
For vendors wanting the direct link to any requisitions Scott County currently has posted on Public Purchase. You must navigate to Public Purchase to submit proposals and quotes for most requisitions.
  • Open Bids
View bid documents for requisitions that are currently open but you do not have a Public Purchase log in or are not a vendor but are interested in what the county is procuring.
  • Closed Bids
View bid documents for requisitions that are currently open.

Vendors:

  • Vendor Registration on Public Purchase
Vendors who subscribe to notifications for the county’s bids on the county bid list will be notified of opportunities to submit competitive prices for required products or services.

Purpose of Purchasing:

  • The Purchasing Division maintains a large bidders list of vendors who represent nearly every product/service imaginable, and who would like to be contacted to give competitive price quotes.
  • Purchasing regularly researches products and obtains price information for county departments. This assists departments in making a sound purchasing decision, gives vendors an opportunity to bid, and keeps prices low through competitive bidding.
