Reading Resources

This is a picture of four kids holding books in front of their faces with the SCLS logo above.

At the Scott County Library System, we believe reading is for everyone.

Check out the resources we compiled for specific types of readers:

DYSLEXIA (AND PRINT DISABILITY) RESOURCES: A print disability is a learning, physical, or visual disability that prevents a person from reading conventional print. As many as fourteen percent of students in local schools have some kind of documented print disability. The Scott County Library System provides access to all learners through audio, large print, and graphic novels.

LEARN TO READ: There is a reading crisis in the United States, with as many as 40 percent of kids unable to read at grade level. The Scott County Library System is committed to supporting emergent readers with decodable texts and phonics resources based on Science of Reading research.
