Food Rescue Workshop Taking Place October 4 in Davenport

Davenport, IA – In the U.S., 40% of our food is being thrown away. Yet, 21,590 people in Scott County and 17,330 people in Rock Island County are food insecure, not knowing where they will be getting their next meal. A workshop being held next month is aiming to work towards solving the problem.

The Food Rescue Workshop will be held October 4, 2018 at the Freight House in Davenport, IA and will include information about how to rescue food by hearing from representatives from local establishments including Baked Bread and Beer Co., Augustana College, The Adler Theatre/River Center, Panera, as well as regional food waste experts.  There is no cost to attend, and the workshop hopes to draw professional food establishments and retail food store owners, managers, and chefs.
