Requests for items not found in the online catalog must go through library staff. Newer items requested may be considered for purchase if requested by an active Scott County cardholder.

Library Card

Residents of the Scott County Library System service area are eligible for a library card, valid for 3 years.  Those eligible for a Scott County Library System library card must reside within the unincorporated area of Scott County, Iowa outside the city limits of Bettendorf, Davenport, LeClaire and New Liberty; or within the communities of Blue Grass, Buffalo, Dixon, Donahue, Eldridge, Long Grove, Maysville, McCausland, Panorama Park, Princeton, Riverdale, or Walcott. In addition, full services are provided to all residents of the city of Durant, Iowa. To apply for a library card, you should stop in at one of our branches with a valid id and proof of current address. You may apply here to begin using your temporary card to access eBooks, eAudio, digital magazines, and comics, but you will still need to stop in with a valid id and proof of current address to pick up your physical card. If your library card needs to be renewed, please bring proof of your current address to your preferred branch to renew your card. If you cannot physically make it to the library, we can accept proof of current address submitted electronically to renew your card. Our online catalog and some of the online databases will ask you for your PIN. The PIN is the last four digits of your phone number or your library card. If you need your PIN reset, please contact the library.

When registering for a library card, you may select how you would like to be notified when you put an item on hold and for the reminder notifications.  You can choose phone, SMS, or email.
