Heroin and Opioids: A Community Crisis

This Summit will bring together law enforcement, educators, and health care professionals to exchange information and strategies to address the heroin and prescription opioid abuse and overdose epidemic plaguing eastern Iowa.  Attendees will leave with information, materials and professional connections necessary to fight opioid abuse and implement and/or improve education and prevention campaigns and services in their local communities.

Responding to Heroin and Other Opioid Addictions

Heroin Prevention Education in Schools and Iowa Communities

Who Should Attend: Public health professionals, educators, prevention/education professionals, health care providers, policy makers, opioid treatment providers, law enforcement, prosecutors, and others who work with those impacted by heroin and opioid abuse. Speakers will provide a national overview of the heroin problem and address issues specific to Iowa.
