Scott County Auditor Kerri Tompkins announced the period to submit requests for absentee ballots by mail for the October 7 City of Davenport Primary Election, if applicable, begins Tuesday, July 29. Iowa law allows county auditors to accept absentee ballot requests no more than 70 days before an election. “Please plan ahead if you know you will not be able to vote in-person on October 7,” said Tompkins.

In response to the severe weather events of July 11, 2025, Scott County Emergency Management Commission has declared a State of Emergency for the county. The State of Emergency authorizes certain response and recovery efforts throughout the community.

Bettendorf, IA - The Quad Cities’ third annual community emergency resource fair will take place on Sunday, August 17, from 12:00 – 4:00 pm at the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center, 2021 State Street in Bettendorf, Iowa. DAVENPORT – Scott County Auditor Kerri Tompkins announced today the Candidate Guide is available via the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office for the City-School Election this fall and can be found at their website. “I encourage candidates to turn in their packets early in the filing period to allow time for any concerns. We also have great resources linked to our website, elections.scottcountyiowa.gov/candidates, including a video that explains how to review the full process with specific details,” shared Tompkins.
