NEWS RELEASE – Car Accident (Buffalo)

On Saturday December 5, 2015 at approximately 02:02am the Scott Emergency Communications Center was notified of a vehicle accident with a male being ejected near the 100 block of 40th Avenue in Buffalo, IA.

40th Avenue is located in the south west part of Scott County in the city of Buffalo. This is a two lane asphalt road which is a winding, unlit road. This road is approximately 23 feet wide in total.

Buffalo PD requested the Scott County Sheriff’s Office Accident Response Team to assist.

On scene investigation showed a black Pontiac Grand Am GT coupe was traveling south on 40th Avenue when it lost control at a slight left hand curve in the road. The vehicle went into a skid and began to yaw (sliding sideways). The vehicle crossed the yellow center line and entered into the east side ditch. After entering the ditch the vehicle tripped and began to roll over several times coming to rest onto its top several hundred feet later.

During the vehicles roll the driver, white male in his twenty’s from Buffalo, IA was ejected out of the vehicle onto the road causing serious injury.

The driver was transported to Genesis East via Medic Ambulance in serious condition.

Assisting at the accident scene was Buffalo PD, Buffalo Fire, Blue Grass PD, Medic Ambulance, and Scott County Sheriff’s Reserve.

Accident currently remains under investigation.
