May is Mental Health Month

What is mental health?  Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think and act. 

Mental Illness is in every Community:

  • Nearly 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. experiences mental illness in a given year
  • As many as 1 in 5 youth aged 13-18 experiences a severe mental disorder at some point during their life
  • Nearly 21% of local jail prisoners have “a recent history” of a mental health condition
