Sheriff Lane swore in Reserve Deputy’s Shaun Logan and Alex Gries today at a ceremony held at the Sheriff’s Office.  We would like to welcome them to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.   

Shaun Logan is the son of Vickie Logan and the late Mike Logan. After high school at North Scott High School, Shaun attended Kirkwood College in Cedar Rapids and then Northern Illinois University where he played basketball.  After graduation, Shaun worked as an EMT/paramedic at Medic EMS and was a volunteer for the Bettendorf Fire Department, later being hired on there, full-time in 2012.  Shaun is married to his wife Kayla for just over a year, has a brother Chris Logan who is also a reserve deputy and has one sister, Kim Schadel.

Alex Gries is originally from Muscatine, graduated from Muscatine High School in 2003 and attended Kaplan University. Alex began working for the Muscatine County Sheriff's Office in January, 2004 in the jail as a corrections officer.  Alex was hired with the Muscatine Police Department in April, 2006 and attended the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. Alex was hired with the Buffalo Police Department in 2011 and was promoted to the rank of sergeant in February, 2015. During his career, Alex has attended accident investigation and accident reconstruction training, has been an evidence technician and a field training officer. Alex has been married to his wife Amanda for 3 years and has a 2 year old son Brecken.
