Post-Election Audit for Iowa Primary Election to be held June 8, 2020 at 3:30 p.m.

DAVENPORT – Scott County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections Roxanna Moritz announced today that a post-election audit of the Iowa Primary Election will be held on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 3:30 pm. in the Board Room of the Scott County Administrative Center. A three member audit board will conduct the hand count of the votes cast. The votes to be audited are for Davenport Precinct 33.

Iowa law requires post-election audits of general elections, and the same law gives the Iowa Secretary of State the authority to order audits after other elections. An audit consists of hand counting the votes which appears on the ballot, and comparing those results with the machine tabulation of those votes from election night.

Paul Pate, Iowa Secretary of State, informed county auditors that he would require an audit of the Primary Election for the position of United States Senator on both the Democratic and Republican ballots. On Wednesday the Secretary randomly picked a precinct in each county for the audit, including Davenport Precinct 33 for Scott County.
