Public Notice Primary Election Tuesday, October 5, 2021

Public Notice is hereby given to all qualified voters in Scott County, Iowa, that a Primary Election for the Seventh Ward of Davenport will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. for the purpose of selecting candidates for the Seventh Ward City Council seat to proceed to the November City Election.

The following polling places will be available:

  • D71: C.A.S.I. 1035 W Kimberly Rd, Davenport
  • D72: Faith United Church of Christ. 1630 W 38th St, Davenport
  • D73: Illowa Council Service Center. 4412 N Brady St, Davenport (this is a new location for this precinct)
  • D74: Davenport Public Works Center. 1200 E 46th St, Davenport

Pre-registered voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a regular ballot. Voters who are not pre-registered – such as voters registering to vote on election day – and voters changing precincts must also provide proof of residence. A voter who is unable to provide an approved form of identification (or prove residence if required) may 1) have the voter’s identity/residence attested to by another registered voter in the precinct, 2) prove identity and residence using Election Day Registration documents, or 3) cast a provisional ballot and provide proof of identity/residence at the county auditor’s office by October 7th, Noon. Election Day Registrant attesters must provide an approved form of identification. Any voter who is physically unable to enter a polling place has the right to vote in the voter’s vehicle. Attempting to Vote more than once is a crime: Iowa Code Section 39A.2(3) A person commits the crime of election misconduct in the FIRST DEGREE if the person willfully votes or attempts to vote more than once at the same election, or votes or attempts to vote at an election knowing oneself not to be qualified.

Voting in this election shall be on an optical scan and ballot marking system.
