Since the 1970s, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Community and Economic Development (CED) has conducted training workshops for township trustees and clerks to help them better understand their roles and responsibilities and how to deliver township services effectively and economically. 

ISU Extension and Outreach CED continues this long tradition in a new, virtual format to make the information more accessible to local officials throughout Iowa. The cost of the workshop is $35 per person.  Attendees will come away with the following benefits: 

• A better understanding of the administrative duties of a township trustee or clerk
• Information on Iowa Code in relation to fence laws, township cemeteries, and emergency management services
• A downloadable copy of CE D's Township Trustee and Clerks Reference Manual
• A certificate of completion of Township Trustee and Clerk training
