The building that is now the Scott County Administrative Center was built in the 1930's as a warehouse for a moving and transfer company.
Scott County acquired the property in1974 to use it as additional office space to supplement the Courthouse. The county renovated the building and the sixth floor was added! The first sections of the building opened in 1976 the "Bicentennial Year" in the U.S., hence the name Bicentennial Building for 27 years. There are approximately 72,000 square feet of space in the building on 6 floors.
This building is home to county and state offices. After extensive remodeling, the building was renamed the Scott County Administrative Center in 2003.
