Disc Golf Course

Scott County Conservation Board is proud to announce one of the newest improvements at West Lake Park, a championship caliber disc golf course. With 24 holes and at 11,056 ft in length, the course has considerable distance, elevation changes, water hazards, and usually contentious wind challenging players at all levels.

Scorecards are available at an on-site kiosk, at the Campground Office (Gate 5) or the Headquarters (Gate 3). You can download a scorecard from this web page. (See attachment below)

Children's Forest

The Children's Forest is an educational tool for youngsters, however interesting for adults too.

Boathouse

Features:

  • Paddle boats, kayaks and fishing boats for rental
  • Bait for sale
  • Large variety of concession items available
  • Large deck with tables & umbrellas overlooking Lake of the Hills

Open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM (known closures posted below)

PRIDE Lake

PRIDE Lake is eight acres in size, 15 feet deep and includes a small island. It is located near the south entrance to the park and was dug out in an “L” shape to be visible from Whispering Pines Shelter, a popular lodge in the park. The lake will be stocked with fish in the fall of 2006 and ready for fishing in 2007.

Osprey Aquatic Lab

The Osprey Aquatic Lab offers a wide variety of hands-on learning experiences. Microscopes, dissecting scopes, water sampling and pond study equipment will give “up close” opportunities to investigate this unique aquatic habitat. The lab may be open to the public on special occasions.

Bends to Beaches Water Trail

The Iowa DNR Bends to Beaches water trail is initiated by our partners at the Clinton County Conservation Board and makes stops in both Clinton and Scott Counties.

With favorable conditions at the Center, you may access the Wapsipinicon River at the low-impact access along the River Trail. The Center offers overnight facilities for day trips or accommodations for longer stays can be made and it is recommended that you schedule well in advance as the beauty of the Wapsipinicon River attracts many throughout the seasons.
