Media Alert – Major Flooding is Likely to Occur

April 6, 2023

The Mississippi River levels will continue to rise in the coming weeks. Timing, river heights, and the possible impacts on our Community still aren’t clear at this time. According to the National Weather Service, there is a 67% chance of reaching major flood stages at the Rock Island and LeClaire river gauges.  Based on current information, river crest levels could be reached approximately the last week of April through the first week of May.

Scott County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) encourages all residents not to delay flood preparations and to stay aware of changing river levels. For County residents living outside of city limits, sand and sandbags are available at the Pleasant Valley Fire Station.

Scott County EMA will be monitoring the available supply at the Pleasant Valley Fire Station; however, if supplies are low or gone, please get in touch with our office by calling (563) 484-3050.
