Job Title: YJRC Food Services Worker

Under general supervision, the Food Services Worker is responsible for the preparation and delivery of nutritionally balanced meals that comply with the State of Iowa Child Nutrition Program requirements in a youth correctional facility. This includes menu planning, food preparation, maintaining inventory, and ensuring food safety and sanitation in accordance with state regulations.

Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines
High school diploma or GED equivalent; AND a minimum of one (1) years of experience in meal preparation; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Preferred: two (2) years of experience in meal preparation and/or working in a human services setting.

Must possess ServSafe certification or obtain certification within six (6) months of hire.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a youth correctional facility kitchen and involves exposure to hot and cold temperatures, hazardous chemicals, kitchen equipment, and machinery. May be exposed to potentially violent youth residents.
May be required to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
