Job Summary

Responsible for driving library vehicle on the regularly scheduled route and for maintaining the library vehicles and facilities. Work involves assisting patrons by performing circulation duties.

Job Responsibilities

Provides direct high quality customer service
Drives the library vehicle on branch deliveries and other weekly runs
Responsible for loading and unloading materials to facilitate branch deliveries
Conducts routine vehicle maintenance and recommends and coordinates outside maintenance as needed
Cleans vehicles inside and outside
Maintains library facilities and performs routine building maintenance
Cleans library facilities
Completes special projects
Accompanies the bookmobile on its scheduled route
Assists with circulation duties
Other duties as assigned and/or needed

Standards for Initial Consideration

Education:

High school diploma or GED required

Work Experience:

Minimum of two years of customer service experience

Essential Skills

Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. (Verified)

Ability to operate office equipment

Ability to effectively convey information to members of the public and other members of the library team

Ability to work independently

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

Incumbent frequently lifts objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Supplemental Information

Schedule is varied and includes days, nights and weekends.

This is a part time union eligible position.
