Under general supervision, the Licensing Specialist assists the public with filing for appropriate licenses and registrations to include hunting and fishing licenses and off-road vehicle registrations. Reviews, accepts, and processes new passport applications.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Verifies the accuracy of boat, snowmobile and ATV registrations and titles on a daily basis. Contacts financial institutions or dealers as necessary to obtain missing information or clarify transaction.
Assists customers at the front counter; determines customer needs and provides direction to appropriate department or party; provides application forms; checks identification cards; collects payments.
Assists passport customers with processing applications for passports; reviews identifying information and collects fees; prepares mailing envelopes and submits to passport agency.
Delivers Recorder's Office mail to mailroom; processes Conservation area's mail.
Processes end of day money and figures; enters data into ERP for deposit to the Treasurer's office.
Provide work direction for clerical staff assigned in conservation area to ensure daily activities are completed property; trains new clerks in reviewing in issuing licenses, copies and entering data.
Answers incoming calls; responds to passport, DNR, and vital records questions or forwards calls to appropriate staff.
Reconciles and verifies the accuracy of all boat, snowmobile, and ATV/ORC registrations and titles.
Processes quarterly and monthly reports for DNR; updates Real Estate figures for Submission to managers.
Processes ELSI ACH reports; reviews data to ensure figures match established amounts.
Balances end of day transactions for deposits.
Attends and participates in training, conferences, and seminars as required.
Demonstrates the ability to exemplify, by his/her actions, the County PRIDE philosophy.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines:
High school diploma or GED equivalent; AND two (2) years of clerical or office related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of:
Applicable local, State, and Federal laws, codes, regulations, and ordinances.
General office policies, procedures, and equipment.
Records maintenance and retention policies, procedures, and practices.
Customer service principles, practices, and etiquette.
Skill in:
Typing and entering data with speed and accuracy.
Operating a computer and other standard office equipment with proficiency.
Maintaining accurate records and filing systems.
Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
Operating a computer and standard office equipment proficiently.
