Under general supervision, the Human Resources Generalist advises and assists Department Heads, Elected Officials, and employees with day-to-day human resources tasks to include recruitment and selection, wage and salary administration, training and development, labor relations, employee relations, insurance/benefit administration and policy administration to ensure employment actions are in compliance with applicable Federal and State laws, collective bargaining agreements, and policies.

Plans, coordinates, and implements recruitment and selection processes in consultation with hiring managers; screens employment applications to evaluate applicant qualifications and prepares and administers testing components as appropriate; conducts related statistical analysis and evaluates results.
Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Organizational Development, or related field; AND three (3) years of human resources related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of:
Applicable local, State, and Federal laws, codes, regulations, and ordinances.
Principles and practices of human resources to include recruitment, classification, compensation, and collective bargaining.
HIPPA compliance requirements.
Records maintenance and retention policies, procedures, and practices.
Skill in:
Interacting tactfully and professionally with staff, outside agencies, and the public.
Preparing clear and concise reports.
Maintaining accurate records, filing systems, and databases.
Reading and understanding contracts and contract language.
Maintaining and handling confidential and sensitive information.
Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
Completing basic mathematic calculations.
