Under general supervision, the County General Store Manager oversees the daily operations and staff of the County General Store (CGS).

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provides daily supervision to assigned staff; conducts annual employee evaluations. Documents performance issues and administers corrective action with approval from Operations Manager or Treasurer. Consults with supervisory staff as necessary.
Responsible for approving or denying leave requests for CGS staff and assigning staff from main office to fill vacancies due to sick or vacation leave.
Performs daily balancing activities to prepare receipts, deposits and records for courier service to main office. Assists clerks in balancing cash drawers as necessary.
Opens and closes office to the public; prepares daily cash drawer monies.
Prepares daily schedules and monthly schedules for Saturdays; tracks vacation, sick leave, and comp time for assigned employees. Prepares monthly customer reports for waiting time.
Maintains records of supply inventory and submits orders to main office as necessary.
Manages satellite office premises and equipment. Acts as liaison with Iowa Department of Transportation staff, Facilities staff and building management to oversee proper resolution to facility issues and/or parking lot concerns.
Assists with training new staff; participates in the hiring process for new employees.
Demonstrates the ability to exemplify, by his/her actions, the County PRIDE philosophy.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines:
High school diploma or GED equivalent; AND five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a County Treasurer office or other government finance experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of:
Customer service principles, practices, and etiquette.
Applicable local, State, and Federal laws, codes, regulations, and ordinances.
Supervisory principles and practices.
Records maintenance and retention policies, procedures, and practices.
Cash handling practices and procedures.
Skill in:
Typing and entering data with speed and accuracy.
Preparing clear and concise reports.
Maintaining accurate records and filing systems.
Providing effective supervision and leadership to subordinate staff.
Operating a computer to include standard software and some specialized software.
Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.

Work is performed in a standard office environment.
May be required to lift and move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
