Buffalo Shores is a twenty-five-acre recreation area located off of State Highway 22, just downstream from Buffalo, Iowa, on the Mississippi River. A double boat ramp, free beach, ample parking, toilets, water, and picnicking are available in the park's day-use area. In addition, overnight camping is offered at the 65-site campground, which provides 50-amp electrical service, water, concrete patios, beachfront sites, a modern shower house, a playground, and a dump station.

Come learn about the many wild edibles in your own neck of the woods. We will focus on foraging basics, foraging safety, identifying plants, and preparing wild edibles. We will take a hike outdoors to identify and forage some of the summer wild edibles available during this time. After the hike, put your cast iron skills to the test and make a lambs quarter patty topped with mushrooms our of our forage ingredients over a campfire!

Join the Wapsi Staff for its 5th Annual Monarch Migration Fun Run benefiting the Friends of the Wapsi Center. It is a 5K self timed trail run, with the run starting at 9:00 am. Check in starts at 8:30 am. Registration includes a t-shirt & refreshments.
Registration closes on September 13th. Must register by August 24th to be guaranteed a shirt.
