The Beach and Boathouse at West Lake Park are closed for the season. We look forward to re-opening these activities in 2021 after completing the lake restoration project.

All other activities will remain open, including the campgrounds, shelters, cabins, disc golf course and trails.

West Lake Park

West Lake Park.

West Lake Park is a 620 acre facility offering four lakes for fishing and/or swimming. A boat dock, parking lot, handicap fishing dock, beach area, and paddle boat rentals are available for the water enthusiast. For the landlubbers - the park offers picnic facilities, playground areas, modern restrooms and two campground areas with electrical, water, and/or sewer hook-ups. Both camping areas have handicap accessible comfort stations.

This program is FULL.

Join the Wapsi River Team and explore the Wapsipinicon River by kayak, to celebrate and honor our sacred waters. Participants must be 16 years of age and accompanied by an adult. Participants are responsible for transportation between launch and take-out sites and please consider bringing the following items: sunscreen, insect repellant, comfortable clothes, sturdy shoes, water bottle, waterproof container with snacks/lunch. This event is determined by weather and river conditions. Expect the trip to last~4 hours. Come join in the fun, this event features an 8" cup! Four person teams are flighted by number of teams signed up for the event.  Men will play from the blue tees and women play from green tees. Cost (subject to change) is $55.00 per person and includes green fee, cart fee, and prizes.  This is the last four person best shots of the season so hurry and sign up so you don't miss out on the fun!

Man and woman are a 2 person team and play 9 holes with an 8" cup in an alternate shot format and scored using a modified stable ford scoring system. The event is flighted by the number of teams signed up each night. Men play from the white tees and women play from the red tees. Cost (subject to change) is $55.00 per couple and includes green fee, cart fee, prizes and a cookout after play. This is intended to be a fun night and beginners are encouraged to participate.  This is the last couples outing and your last chance to play an 8" cup, be sure to get signed up!

Tuesday, October 6, 2020 - 8:00am to 12:00pm

Become a citizen scientist for the day and contribute to one of the largest water quality databases in Iowa!

Monitor trends in the health of Scott County's watersheds! We will train volunteers to use lab equipment to test for pH, nitrogen, chloride, and phosphorus, among other parameters.

Your important work will help Partners of Scott County Watersheds report impaired waterways to local governments and funding organizations to potentially install water quality improvement projects.

No previous experience is necessary, and anyone 16 and over is welcome!
