West Lake Park is a 620 acre facility offering four lakes for fishing and/or swimming. A boat dock, parking lot, handicap fishing dock, beach area, and paddle boat rentals are available for the water enthusiast. For the landlubbers - the park offers picnic facilities, playground areas, modern restrooms and two campground areas with electrical, water, and/or sewer hook-ups. Both camping areas have handicap accessible comfort stations.

During this electronics-free program we will focus on getting in touch with nature and some of the health benefits associated with it. We will practice mindfulness, nature bathing, and yoga. This program is open to all people of all abilities! Program fee is $5/person (payable by cash or check at the program).
We will be active during the program so please dress comfortably and bring your own yoga mat, towel, or blanket and a water bottle. Registration is required so please call to reserve your spot.
Join the Wapsi River Team and explore the Wapsipinicon River by kayak, to celebrate and honor our sacred waters. Participants must be 16 years of age and accompanied by an adult. Participants are responsible for transportation between launch and take-out sites. Please consider bringing the following items: sunscreen, insect repellant, comfortable clothes, sturdy shoes, water bottle, waterproof container with snacks/lunch. This event is determined by weather and river conditions. Expect the trip to last~4 hours. You may bring your own vessel/PFD, though it must comply with IADNR regulations. The Wapsi River Environmental Education Center of the Scott County Conservation Board is seeking qualified individuals to serve as a temporary AmeriCorps 4-H Environmental Education Member.
The Full time positions require the successful completion of at least 1700 hours of service by term end (~ 12 months, approximately 35-40 hours weekly). The Member will receive: a living allowance of $16,000 to be distributed equally by month over the term of service, a $6,345 Segal Education Award upon completion of the term, student loan forbearance, leadership and skill development, as well as hands-on experience.
