Lake Restoration Notice:

The Beach and Boathouse at West Lake Park are closed for lake restoration. We look forward to re-opening these activities after completing the lake restoration project.

All other activities will remain open, including the campgrounds, shelters, cabins, disc golf course and trails.

West Lake Park

West Lake Park.

West Lake Park is a 620 acre facility offering four lakes for fishing and/or swimming. A boat dock, parking lot, handicap fishing dock, beach area, and paddle boat rentals are available for the water enthusiast. For the landlubbers - the park offers picnic facilities, playground areas, modern restrooms and two campground areas with electrical, water, and/or sewer hook-ups. Both camping areas have handicap accessible comfort stations.

Come learn about the many wild edibles in your own neck of the woods. We will focus on foraging basics, foraging safety, identifying plants, and preparing wild edibles. We will take a hike outdoors to identify some of the summer wild edibles available during this time. At the end of the program, you will get to sample some wild flavors!

Join the Wapsi River Center staff for an adventure with kayaks. Whether you are a beginner or regular paddler, come to learn basics. Program includes includes all equipment use, covers safety, techniques, and taking a tour of Pride Lake at Scott County Park. You may bring your own vessel/PFD, though it must comply with IADNR regulations.

Reminder- this program is determined by weather and site conditions. Weight capacity loads for kayaks are 250-300 lbs./solo and 425-475 lbs./tandem. Dress appropriately and bring water.

Seats are limited!! Please call to register.

Scott County Park Pool is proud to be an American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Provider. The Learn-to-Swim program is unique compared to other learn to swim programs. Classes are offered for children ages 3 years old and up. Students progress through the levels at their own pace, mastering the skills in the one level before then advancing to the next.

Sessions are offered from June-July for Group Lessons, Private Lessons, Lifeguarding Certification and a WSI Instructor Class. Register online now or in person starting April 18th at the Scott County Park Entry Station.
