Scott County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan

The current Scott County Multi-Jurisdiction Local Hazard Mitigation Plan was approved by FEMA on March 12, 2023.

This plan has several functions, including:

  • Combining hazard planning efforts for different county jurisdictions (cities, school districts, unincorporated areas) into one document;
  • Identifying how communities can minimize the negative impacts of natural and human-caused hazards; and,
  • Maintaining participating jurisdictions’ eligibility to apply for Hazard Mitigation Assistance funding.

To learn more about the Scott County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan, please visit the Scott County Emergency Management Agency office, the Planning & Development office, or view the plan below.

Hazard Mitigation Plans are required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to be updated every 5 years. The current plan will expire in March 2028.
