Fight the Flu!

fight the flu

The best way to prevent the flu is to get an annual flu shot. Everyone 6 months and older should get a flu shot every year, ideally before the end of October.

How serious is the flu?

The flu can be much more serious than the common cold, especially for children, older adults, and those with certain chronic health conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, and heart or lung disease. Flu symptoms can hit hard and last for as long as two weeks.

How do I protect myself?

Protecting yourself from the flu is simple and only takes a few minutes. An annual flu shot reduces your risk of getting sick or hospitalized and protects those around you too.

Make time to get your flu shot. It's a small step that can make a big difference.

Other preventative actions can reduce the spread of germs too, like washing your hands regularly, covering coughs and sneezes, and avoiding close contact if you or others are sick.

Where can I get a flu shot?

Flu shots are available at doctors' offices, public and community health clinics, and pharmacies. Contact your healthcare provider or pharmacy about getting a flu shot today!

  • Uninsured (do not have health insurance)
  • Underinsured (have health insurance that does not cover routine vaccines)
