Group of walkers, along with details for the May 21, 2026 walk

The Scott County Health Department (SCHD) and the Healthy Pregnancy Coalition are proud to announce the 2026 Quad Cities Preeclampsia Awareness Walk. The walk will take place Thursday, May 21, at Vander Veer Botanical Park (215 W Central Park Avenue, Davenport), from 4 PM to 6:30 PM. The community is invited to walk together to bring awareness to, and support families impacted by, preeclampsia. Preeclampsia is a serious high blood pressure condition that occurs during pregnancy. It can cause major health concerns for the mother and the baby.

The family-friendly event will begin at 4 PM. Attendees will:

  • Hear from guest speakers, including local moms
  • Remember loved ones affected by preeclampsia
  • Walk around Vander Veer as a group
  • Visit with vendors and enjoy the park

SCHD Family Health Coordinator, Lydia Amissah-Harris shared, “Preeclampsia awareness is personal to me because I am not only a public health advocate—I am a survivor. This walk is about honoring every mother’s story, raising awareness, and making sure families know the warning signs, feel supported, and never have to walk this journey alone”.
