Chart Showing Iowa Medicaid Income Guidelines

Two key changes are coming to Iowa Medicaid health insurance on January 1, 2025. These will affect people during pregnancy and the postpartum period (the time after a person has a baby).

1. Health care coverage will extend to 12 months after a pregnancy ends. This can help to keep people healthy.

To be covered, a person must tell Iowa Medicaid when:

  • They become pregnant
  • A due date changes
  • A pregnancy ends

The best way to protect yourself from the seasonal flu and potential complications is to get the flu shot every year. The flu shot can prevent you from getting sick in the first place, but it can also reduce the severity of illness in people who do still get sick.

Visit https://www.vaccines.gov/ to find a vaccine location near you. You may need to check with the location to ensure they have vaccine available.

Through the Vaccines for Adults (VFA) program, the influenza vaccine is available to uninsured and underinsured adults 19 years of age and older. Call us at 563-326-8618 to check eligibility and schedule an appointment!
