Save the Date for the 2025 Quad Cities Promise Walk for Preeclampsia

The Scott County Health Department (SCHD) and the Healthy Pregnancy Coalition are proud to announce the 2025 Quad Cities Promise Walk for Preeclampsia. The community is invited to walk together to bring awareness to, and support families impacted by, preeclampsia. Preeclampsia is a serious high blood pressure condition that occurs during pregnancy. It can cause major health concerns for the mother and the baby. Event details include:

What: 2025 Quad Cities Promise Walk for Preeclampsia

When: Saturday, September 13, 2025, 10 AM – 12 PM

Where: Vander Veer Park, 215 W Central Park Avenue, Davenport (meet at the south fountain across from St. Paul Lutheran Church)

Who: Open to the public – families, individuals, and teams welcome

Why: To raise awareness and support for preeclampsia

  • Hear guest speakers, including a midwife and a local mom who had preeclampsia
  • Remember loved ones affected by preeclampsia
  • Walk a lap around Vander Veer as a group
  • Visit with vendors and enjoy the park

SCHD Family Health Coordinator, Lydia Amissah-Harris shared, “As the Health Chair of the Healthy Pregnancy Coalition and a preeclampsia survivor, the Promise Walk holds a special place in my heart. It’s a chance for us to come together, share our stories, and show families facing this condition that they are not alone. Every step we take is a step toward healthier pregnancies and brighter futures.”
