On June 27th, National HIV Testing Day, Scott County Health Department will be providing free rapid HIV and hepatitis C (HCV) testing and counseling at Walgreens located at 1720 W Kimberly Road in Davenport from 10 AM to 6 PM.
Testing will be provided on-site in a private area of the store and administered by trained professionals with results available in 20 minutes or less. Education about HIV and HCV prevention will also be available. No appointments are needed.
"We are looking forward to this partnership with Walgreens to provide the opportunity for individuals to know their HIV and HCV status," said Lashon Moore, Clinical Services Manager at the Scott County Health Department.
This local event is part of a nationwide National HIV Testing Day effort with the Kaiser Family Foundation's Greater Than HIV/STD campaign that brings more than 420 local health departments and community organizations across the country into more than 580 Walgreens stores.
There are more options than ever to stay healthy and prevent HIV. No matter the result, testing is the first step to taking control of your health.
