The Scott County Health Department (SCHD) Family Health Program is inviting families to come talk about children’s mental and oral health. The event includes a panel discussion from local mental and oral health providers, as well as staff from Iowa Medicaid Managed Care Organizations. Families can ask questions and share feedback.
LaBridgette Johnson, SCHD Child Health Consultant, stated, “A healthy smile and a healthy mind go hand in hand! We hope that you can join us to learn practical tips on improving children’s oral and mental health. In addition, there will be a host of other resources, vendors, and a raffle.”
SCHD, who provides Maternal and Child Health services in several counties (Scott, Clinton, Jackson, and Muscatine), is partnering with Goodwill of the Heartland, the Clinton Community School District Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates (iJAG) program, and Community Partnerships Protecting Children (CPPC) to put on the event.
It will take place on August 12th from 5 to 7:30 PM in the Clinton Community College auditorium (1000 Lincoln Blvd, Clinton). It will be family-friendly and dinner, gift cards, gift bags, and children’s activities will be provided.
